영어 영작 #9 - 소설을 써보자03

안녕하세요. 영어 영자 9탄입니다. 오늘도 소설을 써볼텐데요. 지난번 남녀가 퇴근 후 만나 맥주 한잔하러 가는 장면에서 끊겼죠? 오늘은 바에서 둘이 어떤 대화를 나누는지 보실 수 있을 겁니다. 서로 다른 주인공의 심리에 대입하려니 쉽지 않군요. 그래도 일기보단 재밌는 것 같습니다.

 

 

영어 영작

As we entered a bar, one of waiters greeted us with a big smile.

"Hello, How many in your party?"

"Hi, Just two of us."

"Good, this way please."

We sat down next to the window. Soft, dark lights and some antique decorations made it a cozy, perfect place to grab a beer when it's rainy outside. It was not loud at all in the bar. They played some calm jazz musics. There were also not many people in the bar.

'I already like this place.' I thought. As a lifelong homebody, I admit this place smelled like someone's house.

"What would you like? We have Tera beer, which is the most popular one in this bar."

"Oh, the one that has 공유 as a spokesperson? Okay, I'll go with that."

"Okay, would you want some mac & cheese with some chips too?"
"Sounds nice."

 

 

We ordered some chips with mac & cheese with 2 bottles of Tera beer. I'm not a big fan of mac & cheese honestly, but it's less risky to order food you know than trying a new one when you're with a stranger.

"So, I'm sorry about the past. I want to send you some money to pay laundry expenses."

"Haha it's fine. You can buy me a drink tonight."

"Okay, it's on me tonight. Mhm, I like this kind of vibe that this bar gives off, you know. Hearing raindrops, listening to calm musics, having a bottle of beer.."

"You know what, I like this place too. I don't usually go out for a drink, but I would definitely come here again."

"That's nice. I guess I picked out a good place for us. By the way, I think I don't know your name yet."

"Oh haha sorry, I'm Jessie. I work at Korean tutoring academy on 42nd St."
"Nice to meet you, Jessie. Our work places are not that far from each other!"

"Nice to meet you too! Yeah, we can have lunch someday if you want."
Shit. I don't know if it's because of the atmosphere that makes me relaxed, or I'm already drunk, but I think I should've not said that.

"Sounds fun! It'll be great if we have it when it's not rainy, haha."
"Yeah! We should. I'll buy you lunch then."
